Project Overview
Voisight is a voice-first medical reporting application built for the United States market, designed to let care professionals simply speak and have their words transformed into a properly structured medical report in the format they need.
Rather than requiring clinicians and care staff to manually type up documentation after a long shift, Voisight listens, transcribes, and organizes the spoken information into the correct report structure, giving users the ability to choose the specific report format required for their role or facility. I designed the complete experience for Voisight, including both a light mode and a dark mode, with particular attention to the needs of licensed care professionals operating under real regulatory and time pressure.
Project Goals
The goals for Viosight were to dramatically reduce the time and friction involved in clinical and care documentation; to make voice-to-text report generation feel natural and trustworthy rather than experimental; to support multiple regulatory report formats without adding configuration overhead for the user; to design role-specific experiences for care workers, administrators, and supervisors that still felt like one unified product; and to ensure the entire system remained comfortable and legible for staff working long or overnight shifts through a genuinely considered dark mode.
Project Challenges
The biggest challenge with Viosight was designing an interface around a fundamentally different input method than most software: the spoken voice. Traditional form-based UI patterns don't map cleanly onto a workflow where a user talks first and reviews structured text second, so I had to design an experience that made the transition from speech to structured report feel natural, trustworthy, and easy to correct when needed.
Because the reports being generated are used in real clinical and regulatory contexts in the United States, accuracy and legibility were non-negotiable; a poorly designed review screen could lead to a care worker missing an error in a report that later gets audited or referenced in a compliance review. I also had to design a system that supported multiple report formats without overwhelming the user with configuration, since different facilities and states have different documentation requirements, and switching between formats needed to feel effortless rather than technical.
My Approach
I approached Voisight by first designing the voice capture experience itself, focusing on giving users clear, calming feedback that recording was active, that their words were being picked up correctly, and that they were free to speak naturally rather than reciting a rigid script.
From there, I built a review-and-edit interface that presented the generated report in a clean, scannable structure, with the ability to tap into any section to make a correction without breaking the flow of the rest of the document. I worked closely with the format-selection requirements to design a lightweight, upfront chooser that let a user pick their required report template, such as documentation aligned with regulatory forms used by licensed residential care facilities, before dictation even began, so the generated report would already be organized correctly.
Because the product would be used by care workers, administrators, and Owners, each with different needs, I designed distinct but visually consistent experiences for each role, and built out the entire system in both light and dark mode so that staff working night shifts or in low-light care environments would have an equally comfortable, legible experience.
What I Delivered
I delivered a complete design system for Voisight covering three distinct user roles: Care Worker, Administrator, and Supervisor, each fully realized in both light and dark mode. This included the voice recording and live transcription interface, format selection screens, the generated report review and editing experience, a full library of report templates aligned with recognized regulatory documentation standards, onboarding flows tailored to each role, a dashboard for administrators and supervisors to review submitted reports across their facility, and a complete design system built around a clear, accessible type system and a calming brand green used consistently across both themes.
I also produced App Store and Google Play marketing screenshots to support the product's launch, along with supporting legal document layouts for the platform.
The Outcome
Since launch, Voisight has meaningfully reduced the amount of time care staff spend on end-of-shift paperwork, turning a task that used to take many minutes of manual typing into a process that can be completed conversationally in a fraction of the time. Facility administrators reported that report consistency improved noticeably, since the structured templates removed the variability that comes from different staff members writing free-form notes in their own style.
The dark mode saw strong adoption among overnight care staff in particular, validating the decision to treat it as a fully designed theme rather than a simple inverted color scheme. Supervisors also noted that the clearer reporting dashboard made it easier to spot incomplete or flagged reports quickly, improving overall compliance oversight across facilities using the platform.
