Crypt Pay mobile app (Light Mode)

Overview

Crypt Pay is a decentralized crypto wallet I designed to empower users with full control over their digital assets—while introducing a seamless, built-in earning mechanism. Unlike traditional crypto wallets that only focus on basic asset management, Crypt Pay offers users a more dynamic and rewarding experience. At the heart of the app is a native staking system that allows users to lock up supported cryptocurrencies and earn passive income directly from their wallet. Users can also send, receive, and monitor assets in real time, with clear insights into portfolio performance, staking yields, and transaction history. The interface was designed to feel light, intuitive, and trustworthy—reducing the friction usually associated with DeFi tools. Crypt Pay reimagines the wallet experience by not just being a tool for holding crypto, but a gateway to financial growth within the decentralized ecosystem

Challenges

Designing Crypt Pay came with several key challenges. One of the biggest was simplifying the staking experience for users who may not be familiar with how it works. DeFi concepts like lock-up periods, APY, and unstaking penalties needed to be explained clearly without overwhelming the user. Achieving this balance between education and usability was critical.
Another challenge was building strong trust signals throughout the wallet experience including private key management, seed phrase backup flows, and transaction confirmations. Since crypto wallets operate without centralized support, everything had to be intuitive, error-proof, and visually reliable. I also had to create a scalable system for token support, flexible enough to accommodate future staking programs, airdrops, or integration with hardware wallets and browser extensions. Designing for mobile-first was another consideration, ensuring complex interactions felt smooth and focused even on smaller screens.

Deliverables

As the sole designer, I led the entire product design from research to execution. I conducted user research based on varying crypto literacy levels and mapped user flows for wallet creation, staking, transactions, and security. I designed wireframes and mid-fidelity screens for early feedback, then delivered high-fidelity UIs for the dashboard, staking, token list, history, and settings. I built a design system with reusable components, icons, color tokens, and typography. The design was dark mode-first, with responsive layouts and interactive Figma prototypes for testing and demos.

Result

The final product was a clean, modern, and fully functional crypto wallet interface that users found both secure and empowering. Early testers praised the clarity of the staking flow and how easily they could understand and interact with the earning features. The design significantly reduced friction during wallet setup, token imports, and staking operations.
This project deepened my expertise in Web3 user experience, secure onboarding flows, and decentralized interaction design. It stands as a reflection of my ability to translate complex blockchain features into elegant, user-first solutions.
